Day 20: Oh la la
Underwear as outerwear is one of this season's trends but it's set to be big news in 2010, too, so get ahead with this saucy-but-safe racer-back dress from Oasis. In peachy pink cotton, there's enough fabric to cover your modesty, but thanks to the trompe l'oeil print it'll look like you've got your lingerie on show - as well as creating the illusion of sexy curves and a tiny waist.
From the Oasis Designer Collective, the dress is part of a range by Rosalind Keep, a freelance designer and London College of Fashion graduate. Inspired by trompe l'oeil and her love of print, Keep has produced a number of playful pieces that 'trick the eye', including a top illustrated with braiding, buttons and pockets to imitate a bouclé Chanel-style jacket.
The corset illustration on this dress reminds me of Richard Nicoll's a/w 2009 collection. But at £35, it's a whole lot cheaper! So go on, have a bit of fun with fashion.
