When Parisian boutique Merci opened a pop-up shop in Liberty back in March, I had intended to blog about this pretty Liberty-fabric suitcase it had designed for the store. However, the 'petite valise' sold out in less than two days. Available in five different prints, it was an affordable treat at £45 and the star buy from the limited-edition collection of Liberty-print products - from fashion and stationery to homewares and soft furnishings - designed by Merci's creative director, Marie France Cohen. (I also liked the £6 Merci medallion friendship bracelets made from slivers of Liberty-print fabric.)
So, why am I mentioning the suitcase now? Well, thanks to its instant popularity, more have been made - in five new prints - and they're in Liberty now. You'll have to be quick though as they've already sold out online, despite a sneaky price hike to £48. Compact and chic, it's the most stylish piece of hand luggage I've seen in a while. Just travel light - or use it as a vanity case instead.
Btw, the Emma Hope shoes were my wedding shoes!
That is so cute!
ReplyDeleteLiberty did a collaboration with Target over here in the US recently. I snagged dresses for $30. Liberty print dresses for $30! Unbelievable. There were all sorts of cute housewares too. Wellies. Even a bicycle.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog. It's a little bit of 'home' for me :0)
Wow, I can see why it sold out so fast! Gorgeous!
