I've just bought a pair of hotpants. Now, I'm no Kylie, so that's not a sentence I imagined writing any time soon. But there you have it. I'm now the owner of a pair of rather skimpy shorts.
But are they really that revealing? The pretty lace embellishment adds an important extra few centimetres in length, disguising the shorts as a miniskirt and turning daring into (slightly) more demure - if you can call a mini modest. And I can promise there's no cheeks on display!
I adore the boho, hippy vibe of these River Island shorts. Throw on a skinny tee and you're festival-ready, or just add a bikini top for summer-holiday lazing. Plus, with lace set to be next season's wardrobe staple, I'll definitely be teaming these with tights.
They're £29.99 and also come in red, white and pale green. Personally, I'd love a black pair, too. So, if I get bored of cream, you know what I'll be doing.

Oh do get them Isabelle! They're on the River Island website, too. I really like the red ones, but thought cream was more classic - and easier to dye once I'm hankering after a black pair!
