Day 14: Sweet lips

I'm a sucker for packaging and Andrea Garland's lip balms in recycled vintage tins, pill boxes and compacts (above) have got to be the prettiest around.

Made from natural ingredients (shea butter, sweet almond oil, organic beeswax, red raspberry seed oil, vitamin E oil…), they're part of London-based aromatherapist Garland's handmade range of natural beauty products. Ethical, environmentally friendly and one of a kind, who wouldn't want one of these for Christmas?

They're available from Andrea Garland's website, ASOS and Liberty and cost from £16. The unique packaging softens the blow at checkout, plus once used, you can get a refill for a fraction of the price.

For a cheaper stocking filler, check out the new Vaseline Lip Therapy sticks for £1.99. Yep, your favourite lip salve in a tin now comes in bullet form, available in Rosy Lips, Aloe Vera (both pictured below), Cocoa Butter and Original. Get ready to pucker up under the mistletoe.

  1. Lip balms are really part of our everyday essentials.

  2. They are super cute but the amount of lipbalm I go through I'd be skint in no time at 16 quid a pop. Nope, bulk ordering Carmex on t'internet it is for me!

  3. Burt's Bees all the way for me!

  4. Yes, the Andrea Garland lip balms are a special treat - and nice if you get one for Christmas! Plus, the refill service makes them a little cheaper.

I love Carmex and Burt Bees, too. But the Vaseline Rosy Lips (pictured above) is my current favourite. It gives a subtle hit of pink and the new stick form is a big improvement on the tins - no sticky fingers!
