Socks and shoes

Right now, I'm easing myself into spring/summer with socks and shoes. And the ones I teamed with my Whistles Carrie skirt are my favourite pairing.

The socks are from Gap. It's the almost fluoro pink and orange flowers that caught my eye. I got them when they were £4, but they're now £1.99 in the sale. Sale? Yep, practically everything in Gap is discounted, with 50-75% off. Get yourself down there now!

And the leather sandals? They're Gap, too. Designed by Pierre Hardy for s/s 2008. They may be past season shoes, but there is a tale to tell…

Late 2008, they were reduced to a mere £7.99. So, did I snap them up? Silly me, no. Instead, I told my friends (this was the days before my blog) and they duly went and bagged themselves a bargain.

Of course, I came to regret letting such a steal slip through my fingers – especially when my friends clip-clopped by in these cute wooden heels. So, I started a search on eBay for them, finally tracking down a brand-new, unworn pair in my size last year.

Of course, I didn't end up paying £7.99 for them (more like their original price of £55 – almost) but now I know I really did want them. And you know what? Wooden heeled sandals are all the rage. Find yourself a similar pair at Topshop and Swedish Hasbeens. Or try your luck on eBay – just be patient.

  1. I don't find clogs terribly comfortable because I just don't find the wood all that shock-absorbing. How are the Gap ones?

Anyway, as you mentioned Swedish Hasbeens, thought I'd highlight that H&M and Swedish Hasbeens are collaborating on a range which is scheduled to be released on April 20th. Prices are meant to be between €49.95 and €59.95. More details here.

    Enjoy! :)

  2. Hi Litte Miss Random,

They're a little bit clompy/stompy to walk in, but fine as far as comfort's concerned.

Thanks for the heads up about the Swedish Hasbeens. I got two pairs! (Eek!) Did you see my blog posts?
