Bargainista Fashionista is in Elle!

Have you seen the September issue of Elle yet? I'm so excited as I'm in it! I've been shot by Elle fashion photographer Andrew Woffinden wearing a dress that's top of my autumn/winter wish list.

As my colleagues listed off their designer desires, I had suddenly felt a bit foolish for choosing a high-street hero. But being Bargainista Fashionista, I had to stay true to my roots and, when the dress arrived in the office, I'm glad I stuck to my guns.

It's an elegant tea dress from New Look that works next season's 1940s look perfectly, giving a ladylike nod to Miuccia Prada's exquisite print dresses for Miu Miu's a/w collection.

I love the bird print, embellished with tiny gold sequins, and the sexy cut-out back detail. Now, if only I'd been able to keep it! Still, it's a steal at £24.99, so I'll be heading to New Look the minute it goes on sale. As to when that is, I'll keep you posted.

See what the rest of the Elle team have on their a/w wish lists in this month's issue of Elle, with Kirsten Dunst on the cover. I think you'll love accessories editor Donna Wallace's choice of a Whistles trouser suit as much as I do.

  3. Congrats on such an amazing feature! You're looking fab! Loving this dress... only I think this looks like a press sample you're wearing - the one on sale is not as nice and is much shorter. :(

  12. That dress looks amazing on you!

You're a much braver gal than me- I don't think I'd have the guts to wear an open-backed dress, no matter how lovely!

  18. wow, wouldn't have though that was Newlook - looks like one I nearly bought in Ted Baker. Glad I didn't! Definately the best in the feature and it looks great on you. Would look really good with some red/ rust coloured brogues (think I saw some on ASOS)

(feel bad for writing this because it's kind of spammy but any chance anyone would have a look and tell me if I'm wasting my time? pretty please?)

  22. It came out a few days ago and was sold out in a second! I got it online but it's not as nice as the sample, fabric is shiny satin and the sleeves are short and capped :-( Definitely not as nice as the sample, as it often happens on the high street unfortunately!

  23. Oh shame! Am searching online for it now!
