As Bargainista Fashionista first announced in June, Versace is the latest designer label to collaborate with high-street giant H&M – and it's launching tomorrow!
In true Versace style, the fashion house and H&M celebrated their joint venture last week with a catwalk show in New York, with stars such as Blake Lively, Selma Blair, Jessica Alba and Uma Thurman sat on the front row.
'The collection for H&M is the essence of Versace,' says Donatella Versace. 'For the collaboration we've brought back from the archives – as well as from more recent collections – some of the icons of Versace such as the bright prints, the Greek key and daring cuts.' So, from iconic dresses to sharp menswear tailoring, plus a H&M designer-collaboration first: a homewares range, the collection is full of pieces that have made Versace legendary: colour, print and cut.
But what did the A-list think of the collaboration? Actress Jessica Alba was enthusiastic that 'every woman can feel what it's like to wear Versace', while actress Uma Thurman voiced similar sentiments saying, 'I think it's wonderful for high fashion to make itself available to everyone.' However, it was singer/actress Jennifer Hudson who summed up the show saying, 'Versace took H&M to a whole new level.'
