Make your own fashion art

Ever wondered what to do with the pretty prints in your wardrobe that you no longer wear? How about framing them?

Above is the beach-scene print from the Primark dress below. A summer piece I'd worn to death (and which I'd definitely got my £9-worth out of), I still liked the pattern so I decided to recycle the fabric in a new form.

Simply cut the material to the size required, leaving a little excess all round. Then press with an iron. Wrap the fabric around a piece of thin card cut to the size of the frame. Slot into place and display. Finito.

  1. Ha when I saw this I thought - I have seen that pattern before. Clearly spend too much time in Primark... xx

  4. Lindsay,

The frame is from Heal's. You can find similar frames in Marks & Spencer, too.

  5. Urban Outfitters are doing similar 'Regency' frames at the moment, 2 for £10. I picked up a few in Dublin and they're gorgeous. I've been hanging on to old magazine cuttings for ages and finally have them framed! Have some beautiful old fashion shoot shots, they look great.
