Whistles wisteria wish list

PHOTOGRAPH WHISTLES

Want to know what this season's Carrie skirt is? You know, the iconic Whistles piece that everyone wants to get their hands on?

Well, while the Carrie midi skirt continues (this year in powder blue, a wild meadow print and Cecile candy stripes), its the Whistles wisteria print that is spring/summer's hottest floral. Bold, bright, beautiful blooms tempered by sophisticated navy, the top and trousers tap right into a second trend, the pyjama outfit (as championed by Stella McCartney), making them number one on my wish list for March.

What's great about this oh-so casual combo is that it works for both day and night, offering an elegant (and comfortable) alternative to the work suit or party dress. Although there is a wisteria-print jacket and dress, should you desire.

OK, I'm not going to deceive you with the figures. The top is £85, the trousers £125, and the dress and jacket £150 apiece. But remember, we are talking silk here. And, of course, the most desirable print of the season. So much so, that it's practically a sell-out. My local store only had one top left in a size 16 and a couple of pairs of trousers in sizes 12, 14 and 16.

But this is where Whistles customer service excels. Email or call (enquiries@whistles.co.uk; 0845 899 1222) and they'll track down your size to the nearest store. And that store will even post out to you, too. I'm rarely impressed at the lengths stores go to to satisfy their customers, but Whistles really delivers. Oh, and if you order online, there's free delivery.

PS. Don't forget John Lewis. It's often forgotten that this department store stocks Whistles, but it's a great source for the pieces and sizes that sell out quickly elsewhere. And, of course, you can shop online there, too.

  1. The print is beautiful, although I'm not really a fan of matching printed clothes. Having said that, I'd love to try out just the dress you mentioned- in that print it'd look sweet :-)

  2. Hi Natalie,

I'm not really into matchy-matchy either, but this one contradicts the norm and is really cool.

The print is gorgeous. As is the dress. Go, get it!
